Valentine’s Day is often associated with grand gestures, expensive gifts, and elaborate date nights. But for some, the most meaningful celebrations happen right at home, filled with warmth, laughter, and intimate moments. Three content creator couples, Chaitali Shah & Harshil Vasani, Shivangi Sharma & Arjun, and Jyotii Sethi & Kamaljeet Rana, shared their unique Valentine's Day traditions, proving that love isn’t about extravagance but about the little things that make a relationship special.
Valentine’s Day, Pajamas, Good Food, No Phones: These Couples Have the Perfect Plan
For Chaitali and Harshil, Valentine’s Day is more than just a one-day celebration. "So it's been five years we've been together, and it's going to be four years to our marriage. And the tradition that we have is we always go on a short or a long trip somewhere since Valentine's Day and our anniversary are very close to each other," they share.
Shivangi and Arjun, who have been together for over a decade, keep things simple yet delightful. "We don't have a tradition as such, but there's one thing that we always do, and that's eating our favourite food on Valentine's Day. We need to eat nice food on Valentine's Day," they say.
Meanwhile, Jyoti and Kamal embrace a more spontaneous approach. "My husband and I have been together for over seven years now. We don’t have a strict Valentine’s Day tradition, but we always make it a point to do something that feels natural to us rather than forcing a grand celebration. Sometimes, it’s a cozy dinner, and other times, it’s just spending the day together doing things we enjoy," shares Jyoti.
Love in The Little Moments
While travelling and fancy dinners sound appealing, sometimes the best celebrations happen within the four walls of home. Chaitali and Harshil recall one of their most memorable Valentine's Days before marriage. "Yeah, I remember that we both were home, and we baked pizza, and we both burnt it. Okay, we can both agree that we both are terrible cooks. Yeah, but the vibe was amazing." Even a kitchen disaster turned into a cherished memory, showing that love is all about embracing imperfections together.
Shivangi and Arjun have celebrated several Valentine’s Days at home, and for them, it’s all about effort. "Once Arjun cooked my favourite meal, and he decorated the table with candles and flowers and turned it into this very intimate, cozy, and romantic date night," Shivangi reminisces.
For Jyoti and Kamal, a cozy night at home is all about setting the mood. "What makes it special is the little things, ordering or cooking our favorite food, lighting some scented candles (which I always have plenty of!), playing music, or watching a movie," says Jyoti.
Simple Yet Meaningful Ideas for a Cozy Valentine's at Home
For those looking to celebrate at home, these couples have some wonderful ideas. Chaitali and Harshil believe in comfort and indulgence. "We would get into our pajamas, order our favorite food, select a movie we love the most, and end the night with eating lots of ice cream. Lots of ice cream."
Shivangi and Arjun emphasise that simplicity is key. "Good food, a great movie, and each other. Actually, you know, it doesn't have to be too complicated, honestly. You just have to be very comfortable and ensure that you are spending that quality time with each other, and that can be done in so many different ways. "You can cook for each other, order each other's favourite food, or just have a simple movie night. That itself can be turned into a special thing. Simplicity is the best way to go forward."
Jyoti and Kamal believe that the best way to celebrate is by being fully present. "Sometimes, it’s as simple as putting our phones away, talking for hours, and enjoying each other’s company without distractions."
These couples prove that Valentine's Day isn’t about where you celebrate but how you celebrate. So, how are you planning to celebrate today?
