Nitesh Tiwari tweeted on his profile that along with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, he will be bringing the untold story of the legendary tennis duo Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes. He wrote that he is excited to do this project. The project named BreakPoint will be depicting the story of this Tennis duo. The series will be releasing on Zee5.

Leander Paes, an 18 times Grand Slam Champion, seven times Olympian, Singles Olympic Medal Winner, shared the same news on his Twitter, "The incredible journey of my partnership with Mahesh Bhupathi, with its ups and downs, is coming on your screens through the lens of this extraordinary filmmaker duo Ashwini Iyer and Nitesh Tiwari."

Mahesh Bhupathi in year 1997 became the first Indian to win a Grand Slam Tournament. He also shared on Twitter about his new project stating, “Here’s to a new chapter. An untold story brought to life by none other than Ashwini and Nitesh Tiwari.”

The Duos Achievements Together

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi are one of the most accomplished tennis stars of India. They have broken several records in each of their careers. They became the first Indian pair to win at Wimbledon in the year 1999.

In the same year, they also won the French Open. Bhupathi and Paes also became the first pair to reach the finals of all four Grand Slams. This was the first time since 1952 that such a feat was achieved in the open era.

In remembrance of this time, on July 4 Leander Paes posted a picture of the duo holding the trophy from their win at Wimbledon. Paes wrote, “22 years ago today, we became the first Indians to win Wimbledon. As two young boys, all we dreamt of was making our country proud.” Tennis fans frenzied when Mahesh Bhupathi replied, “Hmmm…That was special!!! Do you think it’s time to write another chapter?” It was a treat for the fans because despite being one of the most successful pairs in the world during their career they haven’t played together as a team for several years.
