Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Peas are going to reunite for Nitesh and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's OTT release.
The Tennis stars Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi were credited to take Indian Tennis to a great extent. The duo has a total of 23 doubles victories to their name. They were also the first to win Wimbledon in 1999.
The duo will be seen in a series and they would be telling their untold story in an OTT series. It will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. It is reported to have many untold stories from the players' journey. The series starring the duo would stream on the OTT streaming platform Zee5. Ashwiny and Nitesh have also made sports-based films like Dangal and Panga.
Though the makers are soon going to make an announcement about the series, they haven't shared the details of the project.
Nitesh Tiwari shared a picture with his wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and the Tennis Stars, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi on his Twitter handle. Tiwari wrote in the caption, "Excited and honoured to bring the untold story of tennis legends @leander and @Maheshbhupathi to the world along with @ashwinyiyer on #ZEE5. @ZEE5India (sic)."
Leander Paes celebrated 22 years of his Wimbledon win with Mahesh Bhupathi and shared a picture with him. He wrote, "22 years ago today, we became the first Indians to win @Wimbledon . As two young boys all we dreamt of was making our country proud! @Maheshbhupathi #LeeHesh (sic)."
Bhupathi replied to this tweet and wrote, "Hmmm ..That was special!! Do you think itβs time to write another chapter? @Leander #LeeHesh (sic)."
Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi is a 49-year-old retired Indian tennis player. He holds the record of being the first Indian to win a Grand Slam tournament. Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi is also one of the eight players of the elite group who have achieved a career in the Grand Slam in mixed doubles.
