Kangana Ranaut has always been a hit among viewers for her nuanced performances. The actor is a recipient of Padma Shri and four National Film Awards. Despite being embroiled in numerous controversies, there is no denying the fact that Ranaut is surely very talented as an actor who has given many groundbreaking performances throughout her career. The actor will be next seen in the upcoming action-spy thriller Dhaakad.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, Dhaakad also features actors Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in key roles. The film will see Ranaut as an International spy Agni, who investigates a child trafficking ring. Her nemesis on this mission is an international arms dealer and human trafficker Rudraveer (Rampal) who has been underground for the last ten years. Dhaakad is set to release on May 20 this year in theatres.

The film's trailer was appreciated by viewers for its dark and quirky tone that is riddle with action.

This 2013 film is regarded as one of the most influential performances of Kangana Ranaut. The film revolves around a naive woman Rani (Ranaut) whose fiancé Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) calls their wedding off just days before the ceremony. Feeling heartbroken and devastated, Rani decides to go on her honeymoon all alone where she befriends wholesome people who help her realise that she had been losing her identity in the pursuit of the love that was changing her very being.

Thalaivii

2021 biographical-drama film Thalaivii follows the real-life story of actor-politician J Jayalalithaa. It stars Ranaut as the protagonist and Arvind Swami as her mentor MG Ramachandran. The film follows Jayalalithaa's journey into the male-dominated arena of politics and how she managed to expand her influence over the people. The film's release was stalled multiple times last year due to the pandemic. After its theatrical release in September last year, the film was made available on OTT.

Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Panga is based on the life of a National-level female Kabaddi player who defies all odds and stereotypes to make a comeback in the sport and reclaim her lost glory post embracing motherhood. Actors Kangana Ranaut, Jassie Gill and Yagya Bhasin star in the lead roles, while Neena Gupta, Richa Chadha, Megha Burman and Smita Tambe are seen in supporting roles in Panga.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a period-drama film based on the life and struggle of freedom fighter and Queen of Jhansi Rani Laxmibai. Ranaut won the Best Female Actor award at the 67th National Film Awards for her performance in the film. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Ranaut, the film captures the incidents that unfold when Manikarnika (Ranaut) refuses to bow before the East India Company as it attempts to annex the kingdom of Jhansi under the Doctrine of Lapse policy. Her rebellion soon takes the form of the crucial revolution of 1857 during India's first revolt to attain freedom.
