The actors appear in the bridal and groom avatars on the poster, but there is a surprise. The bride (Pednekar) is seen closing the groom's (Rao) mouth with her hands and Rao is seen shutting Pednekar's lips with his finger. Also the groom is dressed in a police uniform underneath. So what is the story about?

Badhai Do is slated for release on February 4, 2022, and is expected to be a follow-up to the studio's 2018 commercial triumph, Badhai Ho, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra and grossed over Rs 221 crores worldwide. The National Award-winning film, also had actors Surekha Sikri, Gajrao Rao and Neena Gupta playing pivotal roles.

In an interview with Mirror Now, the filmmaker said "Their characters are distinct in that they include comedy, a certain amount of goofiness, and a few oddities. Only Raj and Bhumi could play them, in my opinion. And I have no doubt that their combustible chemistry will explode on screen."

Meanwhile, Rao stated, "It's an experiment for me, and I hope it works out well," adding that the film is one of his "favourites."

"I'm happy that things are getting back on track and the wheel is turning once more. Badhaai Do is a film that has a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to playing this complex character that has various internal and external issues, " he said. Adding, "I have my own technique of character preparation, and this time it's the location of this character in Badhaai Do that sets it distinct."
