Doctor G release date: Ayushmann Khurrana's medical dramedy Doctor G will have a mid-2022 release. The actor took to social media to announce the film's release date on November 1.

Apart from Khurrana, the film will feature Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chadha in key roles. The film has been directed by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's sister Anubhuti Kashyap. Anubhuti has previously directed the 2020 web series Afsos, featuring Gulshan Devaiah.
The film will see Khurrana and Singh as medical students. Speaking about his experience of working on the film, Khurrana had shared that the subject of Doctor G is very close to him. "Considering the lockdown restrictions, we all have been waiting to start shooting the film and we are glad that the day has finally arrived. It's an honour to portray a doctor on screen for the first time," he said. Khurrana also added that he was excited to start shooting the film as it would allow him to relive his memories of being a student and living the hostel life.
The film was primarily shot in cities like Bhopal in July, and then Prayagraj in August. During the first schedule of the shoot, Khurrana had shared his look from the film on social media, writing, "Doctor G taiyyar ho kar nikle hain. Ab hogi shooting!"
While Doctor G is scheduled for a release next year, Khurrana will be seen in Abhishek Kapoor's Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opposite Vaani Kapoor, releasing on December 10.
