Netflix dramedy series Atypical, starring Keir Gilchrist, will return with its fourth and final season next month. The makers of the series announced the premiere date of the fourth season, July 9, in a recent tweet.

The first look was shared from the official Twitter handle and the caption read, “Your first look at Atypical's final season is here! Coming to Netflix on July 9th.”

Earlier, the dramedy show was anticipated to join the list of the upcoming shows of June 2021. However, the show was delayed by the pandemic and it finally got a premiere date.

What is Atypical about?

The Netflix original series is a coming-of-age story that follows Sam Gardner, a 19-year-old on the autism spectrum, and his family as they navigate key life events. Sam is on an emotional journey of self-discovery as he searches for love and independence. The central theme of the series revolves around the idea of being normal.

In the last season that aired in November 2019, Sam has begun college and faces the pressures of growing up while he figures out what success means to him.

The dramedy series is created, written and executive produced by Robia Rashid and executive produced by Mary Rohlich and Seth Gordon. The show also features Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Michael Rapaport in pivotal roles. The series is produced for Netflix by Sony Pictures TV in association with Exhibit A and Weird Brain Inc.

Besides unveiling the final season premiere date, Netflix also dropped the first look of the final chapter of Atypical.
