The announcement comes just after the couple joyously revealed the birth of their baby girl on March 24, with a joint Instagram post. Instead of a caption, they shared a serene image of two swans, symbolising love and harmony, alongside the simple yet meaningful message, "Blessed with a baby girl."

After the news broke, an earlier remark from Suniel Shetty in which he expressed his desire to be a grandfather following his daughter's marriage went viral. During the promotions of his web series, Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega, Shetty said, "I think every stage in life is beautiful. You know, when you're a child, you're carefree. When you're a teenager there are a lot of decisions, there's a lot of turmoil.”
He added, "College has its own beauty, being a bachelor has its own beauty, getting married has its own beauty, a child coming into your life has its own beauty, then probably a grandfather that I'm looking forward to soon, so every part of life is biblical."
Athiya Shetty who recently celebrated her 32nd birthday, made her Bollywood debut with Sooraj Pancholi in Hero, which was released in 2015. She was last seen in the 2019 movie Motichoor Chaknachoor. Moreover, she has lately walked the runway in a few fashion shows. Athiya and KL Rahul dated for several years before being married in a traditional wedding ceremony at Suniel Shetty's Khandala house on January 23, 2023.
