Cannes 2025: Alia Bhatt To Make Her Red Carpet Debut, Says 'Proud & Excited'

Alia Bhatt is ready to make her long-awaited red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. Representing L'Oréal Paris as their global ambassador, the actor will join the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the iconic movie gala, set to take place from May 13 to 24. This year also marks L'Oréal Paris' 28th anniversary at Cannes, and with Alia joining the line-up, the glamour quotient is sure to soar.

Announcing the exciting news, Alia opened up about what this moment means to her, "There’s something absolutely special about firsts — and I’m so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression. It is such an honour to represent L’Oréal Paris at the Festival with this year’s theme, ‘Lights, Beauty and Action’.”

Adding further about what beauty means to her, she said, "To me, beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence and self-worth. It’s limitless, it’s unique. I'm proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman’s journey and empowers them to shine in their own light.”

Alia will walk the red carpet alongside a glamorous group of fellow L'Oréal ambassadors, including Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult.

From Red Carpet To The Big Screen

Alia Bhatt recently turned heads at the WAVES summit in Mumbai, where she paid tribute to Maharashtra Day in a stunning Paithani sari, draped in classic Maharashtrian style.

On the career side, fans are eagerly awaiting her upcoming film Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail. Slated for a December 25 release, Alpha is a major addition to Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. She is also set to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next epic, Love and War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
