The movie narrates the tale of a determined man's mission to rescue miners trapped in a coal mine. Parineeti Chopra stars as Kumar's wife in the film. The trailer opens with a harrowing mining accident, where a large group of miners working underground face a collapse. Their desperate pleas for salvation are met by Akshay Kumar, who stands ready to launch a rescue operation. He portrays a Sikh engineer in the movie, committed to saving the miners' lives.

Mission Raniganjis inspired by the true story of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission.
The film is scheduled for release in theatres on October 6. Recently, the makers unveiled the track Jalsa 2.0, which received a positive response from fans. Sung and penned by Satinder Sartaaj, the song features Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in Punjabi attire, energetically performing Bhangra to catchy desi beats.
