Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Netflix India, presents a soft, relatable slice-of-life romantic comedy—and viewers can’t wait.

R. Madhavan’s Shrirenu Tripathi is a 42-year-old man looking for a prospective match. A simple, reserved, traditional, family-oriented man from Jamshedpur, Shrirenu, seeks long-term companionship. Enter Fatima Sana Shaikh’s Madhu Bose, a 32-year-old vivacious, headstrong, independent, and confident woman who looks for an equal partner in love.

A Quirky Love Story Where Tradition Meets Modernity

It’s not just a budding arranged romance between two individuals; it explores the contrast between the ideologies of the characters portrayed. Shrirenu comes across as the simple, soft-spoken Sanskrit teacher who grew up in a traditional Indian family setup in Jamshedpur.

The trailer begins with his mother, played by Ayesha Raza Mishra, asking him to hide his real age. Eventually, Madhavan's character expresses insecurities surrounding his looks and profession. His old-school personality is perfectly symbolised in details like keeping pressed flowers in books.

Madhu Bose, as Shrirenu describes, felt like ‘Madhubala’ due to her charisma and free-spirited nature. Fatima's character, as described by Shrirenu's father, a 'hi-fi' girl, comes through with her desire to have a relationship of equals. In the world of fairy tales, Madhu seeks fairness. Her sheer independence, confidence, and decisiveness make Madhu's character stand out.
