Portuguese Woman Dies 'Suddenly' Two Days After Taking COVID-19 Vaccine

A shocking incident has surfaced where a woman in Portugal suddenly passed away two days after getting Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Sonia Acevedo, one of the 538 health workers who received the Pzifer-BioNTech jab, died 'suddenly' at home on January 1, 2021.

The 41-year old woman reportedly complained about 'normal' discomfort in the area where she got jabbed, as stated by her daughter Vania Figueredo in the Portuguese daily Correio da Manha. The woman was otherwise fine. In fact, Acevedo's employers confirmed that she received the vaccine on December 30, 2020 and that they had not been notified of any 'undesirable effect'.

The woman's father, Abilo Acevedo told the newspaper that she was okay and didn't suffer from any other health problems. Although she took the vaccine, she didn't have any symptoms. "I don't know what happened. I just want answers." the distressed father further added.

Statement by Portuguese Institute of Oncology

Instituto Português de Oncologia, also called IPO, is a state-run cancer hospital and research organization in Portugal. It has been serving the purposes of cancer treatment, research and education, for more than 10 years. She was an employee of the regional branch of the institute in Porto who volunteered for the inoculation.

The institute released an official statement after the death of their worker. The officials stated, ""With regards to the sudden death of an operational assistant from the Porto IPO on January 1, 2021, the Board of Directors confirms the event and expresses sincere regret to family and friends in the certainty that this loss is also felt here."

They added that the further investigation of the cause of death will follow the usual procedures in these circumstances. Hence, an autopsy is expected to take place later within these two days.

Sonia Acevedo worked in paediatrics at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Porto, the coastal city in Northwest Portugal. A mother of two, she was one of the 538 Porto IPO workers who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Moreover, she had changed her profile pic on Facebook shortly after her jab. She posted a selfie with a face mask on and captioned, 'Covid-19 vaccinated.'

Sonia lived with her family in Maia, near Porto. However, she died at her partner's home in Trofa, which is half an hour away north of Porto. Her father reportedly told the Portuguese press that he was informed about her death around 11 am last Friday. He saw his daughter last on New Years Eve. He despondently said, "My daughter left home and I never saw her alive again."
