According to the police, on Tuesday, a 30-year-old woman and her two minor daughters were found dead at their home in Sangrur district of Punjab.

Sangrur Deputy Superintendent of Police Satpal Sharma said that on Monday evening, a woman named Baljit Kaur was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home. She lived in Saron village. Her two daughters, Arshnoor Kaur, 4 and Virasat Kaur, 2, were also found dead. According to a police statement, their bodies were found lying on a bed.

The woman’s husband was the first person who saw the bodies after he returned from work. The bodies have been sent to the local civil hospital for a post-mortem.

  • Recently, Punjab was in the news for granting bail to the main accused in the Issewal gangrape case in Ludhiana. The accused, Jagroop Singh, was arrested regarding the alleged gangrape of a 21-year-woman.
