A self-proclaimed Instagram celebrity made headlines for her disruptive behaviour on a flight. A video captured by a fellow passenger shows the woman berating the people around her and boasting about her fame on Instagram.
The video went viral on social media, and the woman was identified as a model named Morgan Osman. The incident unfolded when Osman reportedly had an outburst during a flight.
Incident Details
Osman is seen loudly yelling and hurling abuse at her co-passenger and proclaiming herself as a famous Instagram personality while taking her luggage from an overhead compartment. She then stormed off the plane with her luggage in tow. When she notices a passenger recording a video of the incident, she snaps, "Filming? I’m Instagram famous." Passengers on the flight were astonished and disturbed by her behaviour.
Having spread through social media, the video drew widespread condemnation from netizens who criticised Osman for her lack of respect towards fellow passengers and her desperate attention-seeking behaviour.
The Daily Mail reported that Morgan Osman claimed she was the woman in the footage but has not responded to requests for comment on the incident. As of now, there’s no detail that explains what prompted Osman to yell abuse at her co-passengers. While it is yet to be seen whether Osman will face any legal consequences for her disruptive behaviour on a flight, it’s outright disrespectful and riotous of her to act in such a way.
Unacceptable Behaviour
A flight is an elite form of public transport, and celebrity or not, it doesn’t give anyone the right to throw a tantrum and disturb fellow passengers. Osman reportedly has almost a million followers; however, at this point, her account seems to have been deleted. Millions of followers or not, does being famous and having a public presence bestow on an individual the entitlement to behave in an unruly manner?
While it remains unclear what prompted her to behave in such a manner, it’s definitely unacceptable for anyone to behave in this way, causing discomfort to fellow passengers on public transport.
The video shows her hurling abuse at fellow passengers. Children could have possibly been present on the flight! If she’s claiming to be an "Instagram personality," doesn’t she know that it comes with some social responsibility? If she considers herself famous, that doesn’t entitle her to cause a ruckus on a flight and disturb fellow passengers.
If anything, it only places her in a responsible position to behave consciously and morally. It’s evident from the video that some passengers just laughed at her irrational behaviour. If she had thought this behaviour was going to add to her fame, well, it only made her a laughing stock!
