Gucci Belt viral video: When Chabi Gupta told her mother Anita Gupta about her recent purchase, a 35,000 rupees worth belt from luxury fashion house Gucci, she did not look so convinced. Anita not only dismissed the luxury product, she went on to add that it looked like a belt worn by students of Delhi Public School in Ranchi. Her reaction to her daughter's high end purchase has left internet in splits.
Instagram user Chabi uploaded the now viral video on an Instagram page called @yourregularmom. It is run by the mother-daughter duo, Anita and Chabi Gupta. They have a total of 6.5K followers and have so far posted only seven videos. In one of the recently uploaded videos - a little over a minute long - Anita is seen inspecting a belt as Chabi tells her mom how much it cost her. This desi mom goes on to compare the luxury product to a DPS (a girls' school) belt. It comes as a shock to her when she finds out that her daughter's belt costs Rs 35,000. Her reaction to the purchase has gone viral since.
The shocked mother even calls in Chabi's brother to share her disappointment and is then seen laughing with her children about how the belt looks so ordinary. Chabi recorded her mother's reaction and posted it on Instagram with the caption: “My DPS belt” ft. Bihari mom". In the background, the daughter was heard laughing while her mother added, “Khaali haath mein paisa hona chahiye, aur barbaad hona chahiye (All you can do is waste money).” She also added that one could purchase a similar belt minus the buckle with the brand logo on it for 150 rupees.
Since being shared on June 13, netizens have showered a lot of love on the video as it has reminded many of their own middle class upbringing. Several people commented how the mother's reaction was similar to that of their moms for an expensive purchase. “This is amazing,” a user said in the comments section while another user commented, “Can’t stop laughing. Your mom is so adorable.”
The video has garnered more than 1,561,448 views and several comments like “Now we want aunty's reaction to the 'Gucci gang' song” and another joked about “the accuracy of this video”. A third person mentioned, “Epic! Only moms can bring down a global luxury fashion brand like this."
