Internet Showers Love On Six-Year-Old Kashmiri Girl Who Complained About Homework

In the 45-second clip, the Kashmiri girl said that her classes begin at 10 am and continue till 2 pm, demanding a reduction on the “huge” syllabus she is battling to complete.

Kashmiri girl school work video wins Internet: A six-year-old girl from Kashmir complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the volume of homework from online classes in a video recently. "Chote baccho ko itna kaam kyu rakhte ho Modi saab (Why are the small kids burdened with so much homework PM Modi)?” she says in the now viral video, adding that senior kids who go to higher standard should be given more homework not her.

In the 45-second clip, the Kashmiri girl noted that her classes begin at 10 am and continue till 2 pm, demanding a reduction on the “huge” syllabus she is battling to complete. In the video, which has over 104.3K views now, the student can be heard as saying, "There is English, Mathematics, Urdu and EVS. And then there is computer class as well". Several social media users have reacted to the video  saying that they can completely relate the child’s frustration with that of their own child. The viral video, which received more than 11.6K likes on Twitter, has moved Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. On Monday, he took note of an "adorable complaint" and instructed the school education department to form a policy within 48 hours to reduce the homework load.

One user wrote that they wished to help her out with her homework, while another urged PM Modi to "make this cute little girl happy".  One person went on to request teachers to not burden kids with online classes. "Better to split the classes and stop teaching them EVS and comp, she is 6."

"This is completely injustice to the innocent child," read another tweet.

Many people called the little girl "endearing" for her candid video. Then, there was one person who shed light on how children's plight during the pandemic often goes unnoticed. He said, "We need to understand how this pandemic has affected innocent children badly".

Jammu and Kashmir L-G tweeted out saying a policy to lighten the burden of homework on school kids will be made soon as "Childhood innocence is the gift of God" and their days should be "lively, full of joy and bliss."

So far, it is not known who this girl is and where she is based in the Kashmir valley.
