A Kerala couple that operates a bus together has won the hearts of netizens as a video featuring their bus and their story went viral. The couple, Giri and Thara operate a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus together.

The Kerala couple’s bus can be found in the Haripad KSRTC deport in the Alappuzha district and features a music system and CCTV. The couple operates the bus, with Giri as the driver and Thara as the conductor. A video about the couple’s bus and their story was posted on Facebook by Iype Vallikadan and went viral.

Thara said that they wake up every day at 1:15 am and reach the bus depot by 2 am. Then, her husband Giri cleans the bus and their duty official starts at 5:50 am. They revealed that while they recently got married, they met over 20 years ago when Giri was 26 and Thara was 24. Their marriage was about to be confirmed but they did not get married as their horoscopes did not match. However, the couple got married during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Within four days of being posted, the video reached more than 1.5 million views, 40,000 likes, and 3,200 comments.

In another incident, a video of a couple went viral when the groom broke stereotypes by touching the bride’s feet. In the video, the groom bent down to touch the bride’s feet. Traditionally, the bride touches the groom’s feet as a sign of respect once the marriage is commemorated.

The video was posted by the bride, Diti Goradia and wrote in the caption, “Marry your equal in every sense of the word!” The viral video was viewed more than 9 million times and got more than 540,000 likes.
