Here are 9 things to know about the Arrest Yuvika Choudhary Twitter trend

  • The former Bigg Boss contestant Yuvika Choudhary recently shared a video on her social media handle featuring herself and her husband Prince Narula along with a few makeup artists and staff members. Filming herself in the mirror she said that whenever she shoots a vlog, she dresses up like a particular community. The term she used is, in reality, a casteist slur.
  • The blog has been uploaded on her YouTube channel. Here is the clip where she used the controversial term.

  • As soon as people came across the video, they urged that Choudhary should be arrested. This invited a series of  tweets and reactions from users.
  • A user wrote, "Yuvika Choudhary committed an offence under section 153A of IPC which is a cognizable & non-bailable offence & for which she must be arrested.

  • Choudhury, however, apologised for her offence. Taking to her Twitter handle, she said that she did not know the meaning of the term. She wrote, "Hi guys I didn't know the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn't mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n every  I hope you understand I love you all."

  • Netizens continued to troll her even after she apologised for her fault. The organisation 'Bahujan Spaces' which raises voice for the deprived classes replied to her tweet, saying "And here the thread goes on first Yuvraj Singh then Munmun Dutta and now you and one thing is common in all these cases they all don't know the meaning of this word but yeah perhaps they are using silly".

  • Another user said that it is easy to abuse the SC-ST and ask for an apology on facing a backlash. This is what everyone is doing nowadays for fame.

  • Earlier this month, actor Munmun Dutta used the same term in one of her videos and said that she does not want to look like them. The actor then faced massive trolling on social media. Though she apologised for her offence, Netizens did not spare her from hate comments. Later, an FIR was lodged against the actor in Ahmedabad for her derogatory remarks. Click here to know more.
