I have 30 dresses in total and 29 of them don’t have any pockets. I am sure saari ladkiyaan is cheez se totally relate kar paengi. Kitni khushi milti hai na jab finally koi aisi pants ya dresses mil jaaye jinme pockets ho. Ladkiyon ke kapdo mein pockets dhoondhna utna hi mushqil hai jitna mushqil aaj ke hookup aur situationship culture mein ek emotionally available aur green flag partner dhoondhna hai.

Aur vahin ladke apni pocket mein choti si nayi duniya bana sakte hain. Humare kapdo mein ya to pockets hoti hi nahi hain, ya fir itni useless pockets hoti hain jinme sirf aadha hi phone fit ho paata hai. Aur yahi nahi kyi baar to design ke chalte hume pockets ke naam par sirf fake pocket ka style milta hai

Bhai ladko ki tarah wallet, phone aur baki basic samaan to hum bhi carry karte hi hain. To aakhir ye bhedbhav aya kahaan se?

The Sexism Behind Women's Clothing Not Having Pockets

Let me tell you iske piiche ek bohot purani sexist history judi hai. So, let’s decode this biggest fashion mystery. Well in the medieval ages, both men and women didn’t have pockets in their clothing and both of them used to carry bags attached to their waist with a rope. Then in the 17th century, finally pockets were introduced

BUT

Only for men, I mean, of course, why not -  PATRIARCHY

Because men used to go out for work as they were the breadwinners, their clothing needed to be functional with pockets, on the other hand, women didn’t have to go anywhere so why did they even need pockets? Then came a wave when women used to attach their bags underneath their petticoats but then their so-called bags were useless as the public mein they couldn’t lift their petticoats and take out stuff

Then in the 1790s when fashion evolved, ab aagya tha high waist, fitted, figure-hugging kapdo ka chalan jisme saans lena hi mushqil hai usme pockets hona to bohot door ki baat hai

So women started opting for small decorative bags called reticules, which were so small that they could barely fit a handkerchief or a few coins

A reputed designer Christian Dior once said men have pockets to keep things in, while women - for decoration. We are in the 21st century and still not much has changed, instead of designing functional clothes, the brands focus on the look and feel of the garment and not its utility and functionality.

Brands have realised that not giving pockets means women need to depend upon accessories and bags and that’s the reason duniya ki handbag industry 50 billion dollars ki hai. Ab ye to obvious baat hai na ke agar kapdo mein hi pockets de doge to handbags purchase hi kon krega.

Handbag industry ki sales boost karne ke liye women clothing mein pockets ka role bare minimum hai. However, there are a lot of brands that are trying to bring the change but there’s still a long way to go.

So, what’s your take on this?
