Vidya Balan Shares Sherni Trailer: Vidya Balan shared the just out trailer of Sherni, where the actor will be portraying the role of a forest officer.

Balan took to Instagram and wrote, "It's time for the #Sherni to roar!" The film is directed by Amit Masurkar, who earlier made the award-winning film Newton in 2017, and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. She further captioned her post: "Be courageous. Be strong. Be fearless."

In the two-and-half-minute-long trailer, Balan finds herself in a hostile environment where she not only faces off the animals from the dense jungle but also gender stereotypes, "When there's a problem here, they send a lady officer." She is also seen fighting off the urge to talk back when her mom comments on her dressing sense saying, "You can't go out looking this dull!"

Balan has indeed carved a niche for herself in the industry with her acting skills. Her highly-anticipated next Sherni will release on the OTT platform on June 18 due to the pandemic-induced restrictions on movie halls.

The teaser had earlier showed us how Balan's journey as a forest officer who strives for balance in a world of man-animal conflict.

Balan was last seen in Shakuntala Devi. Talking about her upcoming film, the Kahaani actor, in an interview with the Times of India, shared that she loves to “explore subjects and characters that have not been tapped, yet”, claiming that she has a need to “continuously do different things”.  In November, the film grabbed headlines when the shooting was reportedly suspended after Balan turned down MP minister Vijay Shah’s invitation for dinner, as per reports. Shah who is Madhya Pradesh’s Forest Minister, however, denied the reports.In the same month, actor Vijay Raaz was arrested and later released on bail after a female crew member of Sherni filed a case of molestation against him.

Earlier, the streaming platform shared the first-look poster of Sherni on social media. "She is ready to leave a mark!" read the caption.
