Arshia Goswami- A name in the India Book of Records

According to the India Book of Records, Arshia got the title of the 'Youngest Deadlifter' when she was just 6 years, 11 months, and 27 days old. Her wonderful accomplishment included lifting a great 45 kg. Perceiving her exceptional achievement, the India Book of Records formally affirmed her accomplishment on December 28, 2021.

Arshia's interest in the field of weight-lifting stirred in 2020, during the first lockdown due to the pandemic as her father, who is also a fitness freak, was at home. Arshia's social media handles are handled by her father, who often posts her videos showcasing her remarkable skills.

Girls are breaking the shackles and proving themselves to be equals, not just for namesake purposes, but truly proving themselves. While some still believe that females are supposed to be timid, weak and shy, small girls like Arshia are shattering these dogmatic beliefs with their record-breaking performances.

Arshia's performance is a reiteration of the fact that it is time for society to recognize the remarkable achievements of women athletes, encouraging their growth and development as an athlete and a person. By focusing on their talents and achievements instead of appearance or gender, we need to create a more cohesive sports culture for all athletes regardless of sex.

The time has come to recognise the tremendous achievements and successes of female athletes based on their ability rather than their gender. Women have shown time and again that they're equally as skilled and dedicated to their sport as men. Equal recognition, respect, compensation and opportunities should be given to them. This will allow the next generation of female athletes to pursue their dreams and ambitions in a healthy environment that promotes growth and development.
