Celentano compared the cost of renting an apartment in New York or Parsippany for the summer to that of living with her parents and commuting to her internship once a week on a low-cost flight.

The average cost of renting a studio apartment, according to Apartments.com and Renthop in Parsippany, was approximately 1,730 dollars (140,000 rupees) per month and 3500 dollars (280,000 rupees) in per month New York. This hefty amount was excluding utility, food, petrol, and other expenses.

Sophia Celentano shared her idea of commuting to her internship via plane on her LinkedIn handle. She wrote that on the first day of her internship, she posted on TikTok what a typical morning in her life looked like when she commuted from South Carolina to New Jersey. The 21-year-old explained that commuting to her internship by flight provided her with significant financial benefits.

Celentano shared that rather than spending more than 2 lakh rupees a month for rent in Manhattan, she books a road trip flight from South Carolina to New Jersey once a week when she has to work from the office. She also added that her unconventional commute offered her lifestyle freedom and that she looks forward to her weekly adventures.

Celentano also mentioned that she has been receiving overwhelming support from her colleagues and has recently been given the unofficial title "the celebrity intern." She said that she was before she realised her TikTok page had gone viral and more than ten publications had written articles about her. The intern also revealed that she was on national television.

She concluded that she gets questioned on why she is doing this for an internship, which is the lowest level of seniority in a company, to which her reply is that it’s simply because she loves the company she is working for.
