In 2016, after the demise of her adoptive mother, Tamuna Museridze discovered her birth certificate with a wrong birth date, prompting her suspicion about her ancestry. She later founded a Facebook group Vedzeb (I'm Searching) in hopes of finding her birth parents. She unknowingly uncovered a baby trafficking scandal in Georgia. The parents were lied to and told their newborn infants had died, after which the infants were sold.
Tamuna Museridze found a purpose and reunited hundreds of families with the help of her Facebook group. A heartwarming reunion was the reunion of identical twins Ano and Amy with their mother. The twins were separated and sold as infants.
Her hard work came to fruition when she received a message through her Facebook group. It was from someone who lived in rural Georgia, who claimed they knew a woman who had concealed a pregnancy and given birth in Tbilisi in September 1984. That’s around the same time Tamuna was born - a date she had shared publicly.
Tamuna started searching for her birth mother and asked on Facebook if anyone knew her birth mother. She got a response from a woman, who revealed that her aunt had undergone a secret pregnancy. On further discussions, the woman agreed to do a DNA test.
Soon, the results came out, and Tamuna's DNA matched with the woman indicating that they were maternal cousins. Tamuna contacted her mother and backed with the evidence of DNA compatibility, asked for her birth father's name. Her birth father was a man named Gurgen Khorava.
Gugen Khorava and her birth mother had a brief relationship and he was unaware that she was pregnant. Tamuna found her father Gugen Khorava on Facebook, and it turned out that he was following her!
The Father-Daughter Reunion
Gugen Khorava was following Tamuna's initiative of connecting the separated families without knowing that she was his daughter. Tamuna contacted her father, and they agreed to meet in Zugdidi in western Georgia.
When the 72-year-old Gurgen appeared in front of his daughter, they shared a brief moment to look at each other and shared a heartwarming hug. Gugen, the moment he saw Tamuna knew that she was his daughter. They started chatting and got to know about a lot of common interests they shared.
Even though Tamuna's birth mother abandoned her after giving birth to her, Tamuna's father quickly made her a part of the family and now she shares a cordial bond with all her family members.
