Veteran American actor Morgan Freeman will reportedly be joining actor Nicole Kidman as the main cast of the upcoming spy series Lioness

Veteran American actor Morgan Freeman is famous for his distinctive baritone voice as well as hit movies like Now You See Me, Bruce Almighty and The Bucket List. The actor will next be seen in Nicole Kidman's action web series Lioness which will be hitting OTT in 2023.

Lioness is an upcoming action drama series that is created by Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan is also an executive producer of the show along with David Hutkin, John Hillcoat, Michael Malone, Ron Burkle, Geyer Kosinski, Bob Yari, David C. Classer, Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana. Kidman and Saldana are also acting in the series in pivotal roles. The show also on-boarded veteran American actor Morgan Freeman who will be playing an important role in the series.

Morgan Freeman In Lioness

The show announced Morgan Freeman as the new cast member and the character he will be playing. Freeman will reportedly be playing the role of US Secretary of State Edwin Mullins. He will be portraying the political aspects of the CIA program on which the show will be based. Freeman is famous for playing the role of Lucius Fox in DC's The Dark Knight trilogy.

Lioness is a real-life CIA program that stars actor Laysla De Oliveira in the role of young Marine Cruz Manuelos who has some imperfections but is really passionate. She is recruited as a member of Lioness Engagement Team of CIA to assist in bringing down a terrorist organisation.

Zoe Saldana will be playing the role of station chief Joe who is responsible for training and managing the female undercover recruits under the Lioness program. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman will be seen in the role of Kaitlyn Meade, a senior supervisor of CIA who has ample experience of handling the political game that affects CIA's operations.

The show will also be starring LaMonica Garrett, Stephanie Nur, Jill Wagner, Hannah Love Lanier, Dave Annable, Jonah Wharton and Austin Herbert. The series is under production and will release exclusively on Paramount+.
