Harry Potter's Bonnie Wright Welcomes First Child; Shares Experience

Actor Bonnie Wright and her husband Andrew Lococo welcomed their first child recently. The actor announced the birth of the baby boy in a lengthy note on Instagram.

Bonny Wright, best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in Harry Potter films has given birth to a baby boy. The actor announced on her Instagram a week after the birth and shared her experience of embracing motherhood, calling it the 'Wildest Experience'.

Wright has named her newborn son Elio Ocean Wright Lococo. 

Bonnie Wright Welcomes First Child

Actor, writer, filmmaker and environmentalist Bonnie Wright who is best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter series welcomed a baby boy on September 19, 2023. She announced the news on Instagram on September 27, giving an adorable glimpse of her newborn son.

Wright shared a photograph of her newborn son in which the baby boy is seen snuggled in a light brow crocheted blanket wearing a light-stripped beanie and a matching onesie. 

Wright also shared a lengthy note under the post articulating her emotional experience embracing motherhood calling it full of hormonal mood swings. She informed her fans how they all are healthy and happy and her husband Andrew and she are "so in love with the kid." 

Wright also thanked their birth team for making their journey so joyous and expanding calling it the "wildest experience." She continued to express her gratitude to their family and friends and, lastly, thanked her husband, calling him her literal rock throughout, recalling how she squeezed onto him tightly and he never wavered. Wright writes, "Elio has the most tender loving papa."

Wright ended her note by writing, "Ok hormonal emotional extra long caption over." 

Wright and Andrew met each other in 2020 and tied the knot two years later in an outdoor ceremony at San Juan Capistrano, California. A month after celebrating their first marriage anniversary, the couple announced their pregnancy. 

Earlier the 32-year-old actor also shared her pregnancy experience on her YouTube channel preparing for the baby such as "nesting," and "navigating newborn essentials." Wright also shared how she and her husband have been trying to get as many things as possible for their baby that align with their values. 

Wright made her acting debut in Harry Potter in 2001 playing the younger sister of Ros Weasley and later became Harry's love interest. She has starred in all the parts of the franchise film.

Wright also wrote a book last year, Go Gently: Actionable Steps to Nurture Yourself and the Planet, which is a guide for positive change by treating ourselves and our home gently and doing our part in protecting the planet.
