Who Is Erika Hammond? WWE Champ And Tech Billionaire Ankur Jain's Wife

Indian-origin tech billionaire Ankur Jain and former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond recently celebrated their nuptials in an opulent ceremony in Egypt. The festivities began with a three-day pre-wedding celebration in South Africa, including an exquisite dinner in the wilderness's core and a jungle safari experience. Reports in US media state that the South African excursion cost $2,000 per night. The couple and their 130 guests then flew down to Egypt in a private jet. While the couple stayed in New York, they wanted their wedding to be nothing short of a fairytale and thus landed on Africa as the destination.

According to People magazine, Jain, the founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards, met Hammond at a popular fitness class where she was a trainer. Jain told the outlet, "My first pitch to Erika for the wedding was to get married in space!" Hammond chimed in, "I was like, ‘I don't want to die on my wedding day!’" 

Who Is Erika Hammond

Erika Hammond is a fitness instructor and former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) NXT Diva. After she departed from WWE, the wrestler began her journey as a fitness coach in Los Angeles. She then moved to New York to join a popular gym called Rumble Boxing as a founding trainer.

It was there that she met Ankur Jain. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Hammond is also the founder of a fitness app called 'STRONG by Erika'. She is also the creator of Knockout, a boxing-inspired group fitness class which is offered at a celebrity-favoured gym called Equinox in New York City.

Ankur Jain And Erika Hammond Love Story

While Ankur Jain was initially Hammond's client, sparks flew and the duo fell in love. They decided to get married in the most memorable way possible and decided to fly their guests to Africa. They chose Egypt as their wedding destination owing to Jain's obsession with ancient history and society, he told People.

He told the outlet, "We’re New Yorkers and there's something so special about being in a completely different world environment. So we decided, our wedding is about having a moment together to celebrate the new beginning, having a really special party with our friends somewhere where you're in a different world." 

The couple ditched the typical features of weddings like a giant cake, bridesmaids, and groomsmen, and instead opted for a gala with their friends and families. Jain said, "Why do you have to spend $20,000 on flowers? And none of that should matter when you're getting an opportunity to sit and have dinner at the base of the pyramids!"
