Well know director and choreographer, Farah Khan helped change the discourse in terms of successful women directors in the film industry. Her Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om created a huge spur in box office and continue to be a favourite among the crowds. SheThePeople.TV caught up with her and spoke to her about the current focus on women centric films.

She said that the director’s gender does not matter while making a film centered on women but admitted that in India we yet saw significant male actors leading the movies meant to change our mindset towards women. “Things are changing now but I guess we still need an Amitabh Bachchan for people to come to the theatre and watch a movie about three women.”

Khan spoke of Pink with praise and hoped Shoojit Sircar and team would come up with a second part. Khan wants to see a female lawyer fighting for the justice of women and not always a man.
