Earlier, a man was captured stealing undergarments from a locality in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. On arrest, the thief revealed he had a specific modus operandi to steal clothes. In another incident, a group of men in Mangaluru stole women’s lingerie from the terrace of various homes and left condoms on the door. The case was filed, but the accused are yet to be arrested.

Masturbation in public spaces is morally wrong, and legally a crime. Also, public masturbation can be an indication for the person to commit other serious sexual offences.

In the Bengaluru case, the suspect might have not masturbated in front of women but chose a public space to do so, which is creepy. Also, he stole a woman's underwear, which from a psychological perspective can be a fetish. Fetish is the sexual excitement for a certain object, in this case, underwear and masturbation in public space are both fetish

Many think being a fetishist is okay, but not when it comes to stealing someone's undergarments and committing disturbing acts, which again is a gross invasion of privacy.  In Gwalior's case, the accused had a method to commit such an audacious act, what do we take it for, a harmless act or source of potential sexual crime? For Mangaluru crime, can you imagine it is a legit group act?

The question is why do men obsess over women's underwear? What is the motivation behind committing such acts? It is a question that has irked women for years. These cases are proofs of obsession turning into disgust. What is the reason for such obsessions that can turn into crime also? Do they even think of repercussions before committing them?
