When I visited a village for the first time, I saw that most people had kept earthen pots in the corner of their rooms. After every meal, they would take out some Jaggery (gud) from them and serve us. I was a bit confused but ignored thinking that it was a village and people simply didn’t have proper sweets. However, the child in me didn’t realise why they did so. Many of us might have seen our grandparents and sometimes even our parents ending their meals with Jaggery.
