Megan Rapinoe, star of the United States Women’s National Team, was recently awarded the women’s Ballon d’Or prize at an awards ceremony in Paris.Â
She is one of the team’s co-captains, hence leadership comes naturally to her — both on and off the field.
Rapinoe helped lead the USWNT to its fourth World Cup title last summer in France, scoring six goals and recording as the tournament’s top player.
Megan Rapinoe is known for her strong opinions, she led the way in the women’s national team’s lawsuit against U.S. Soccer, accusing the federation of gender discrimination.

According to the reports, Megan Rapinoe earns far less than her team-mates Alex Morgan or Julie Ertz even though she is a national treasure and one of her country’s veteran players.
Soccer President Carlos Cordeiro, and US Soccer confirmed that the federation paid out $34.1 million in salary and game bonuses to the women between 2010 and 2018 wherein $26.4 million was paid to the men.
“I hope this book will inspire people to find what they can do, and in turn inspire other people around them to do the same,” Megan Rapinoe said.
