In September 2018, Anjum became the first Indian shooter to secure am Olympic quota for India. She claimed silver medal in Women’s 10m air rifle event at ISSF World Championships in South Korea and emerged on top.
The remarkable shooter from Himachal Pradesh went ahead in the game to surpass the likes of world No. 1 Elavenil Valarivan, World No. 3 Apurvi Chandela, Anjum Moudgil and West Bengal’s Mehuli Ghosh.
Mehuli outclassed her senior’s record score, thus creating a new world record but the results of the South Asian Games aren’t recognised by the ISSF for maintaining records so Mehuli’s record would be counted as an unofficial score.
The 20-year-old from Tamil Nadu had earlier won gold medals at ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney and Suhl in 2018.
Manu Bhaker is an Asian Champion, a Youth Olympics Champion and reigning Commonwealth Champion.
