Pfizer is the second such biopharma company to come up with an antiviral pill. The first one was Mercks which proved to be effective for “first sign of illness”.

A study found no evidence for the presence of Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccines in breast milk and suggest that they are safe during lactation.

Earlier, it was reported that the Centre may grant indemnity to the vaccine makers so that the process of approval of the vaccines can be hastened. The given indemnity will ensure makers from legal proceedings, which assures that they can’t be sued in India.

Moderna turned down Punjab’s vaccine request. They responded saying that as a part of their policy, they do not deal directly with states or private parties.

The Serum Institute of India is producing the Oxford/AstraZeneca two-dose vaccine as Covishield. The same is being made available among the adult population in India.

Pfizer sought protection from any claims against any serious side-effects of the vaccine.

According to a study, the covid-19 vaccines developed by Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech work slightly better on men than on women.

The study is the first direct comparison of the immune response of people of any age group who were given the second dose of Pfizer vaccine to those who got the shot at a 12-week interval.

“My advice to anyone offered the vaccine is to take it – if I can have it at 90 then you can have it too,” she had said.

The committee had reportedly reviewed the applications of Pfizer, Serum Institute of India, and Bharat Biotech.
