Godavari is all set for the upcoming Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Elections 2022 as a candidate from the Mussoorie constituency. While she is competing against a bunch of strong contenders, she is also facing resistance from her own cousin sister, Kalpana Gurung.

There are over thirteen crore electors who will be taking part in the assembly elections this year. It has been observed that there has been an increase in women’s participation in elections. 

Under the Griha Laxmi scheme, the party has decided to distribute ₹5000(₹60,000 yearly) to a woman in every  household per month.

She is suspected to have died by suicide, as per the police statement.
