Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie has gained notoriety after it emerged that she was named as a plaintiff in an anonymous 2016 lawsuit. The star claimed that her ex-husband Brad Pitt had physically abused her on a private plane, according to the lawsuit.

Angelina Jolie Anonymous Lawsuit

Jolie allegedly informed an FBI agent that Pitt allegedly "physically and verbally assaulted her and their children aboard a flight," according to report.

According to the FBI agent's note, Pitt allegedly punched the plane's ceiling several times before going back to where their kids were seated. Pitt reportedly responded, "No, she's not OK, she's ruining this family, she's crazy," when the children started asking him whether Jolie was alright.

The Tomb Raider actor further claimed that another confrontation on the same flight resulted in elbow injuries for her. According to the reports, Jolie also claimed that Brad Pitt drunkenly dumped alcohol on her. When the plane landed in Los Angeles on September 14, Pitt allegedly pushed Jolie again after she proposed that she take the children to a hotel to sleep. Pitt allegedly yelled back, "You're not taking my fucking kids."

The Lawsuit

It has long been suspected that Jolie's decision to file for divorce was prompted by a complaint filed with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, which included allegations of child abuse levelled against Pitt.

The allegations stemmed from a plane trip from Europe to the United States on September 14, during which Pitt was accused of engaging in a physical and verbal fight with the couple's eldest child, Maddox, who was 15 at the time.

Pitt, who has adamantly denied all allegations, publicly quit drinking shortly after his divorce from Jolie, acknowledging in a May 2017 interview with GQ that his relationship with alcohol had "become a problem" around the time of the separation.

The Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services looked into the incident and later found no evidence of wrongdoing on Pitt's behalf. The FBI, which has jurisdiction in the air, concurred that no additional investigation was required.
