The trailer of Raksha Bandhan introduces us to brother who must get his four sisters married so that he can tie the knot with his girlfriend. Stereotypical much? Here’s why we hope that won’t be the case.

Sharing the picture featuring Manushi Chillar and Akshay Kumar from the film, one user wrote, “Daughters are the best” noting how Chillar can actually play the role of Kumar’s daughter because of the age gap between them.
In the film, Manushi Chhillar is making her debut by playing the role of Sanyogita, who was one of Prithviraj Chauhan’s three wives and was the daughter of Jaichand, the King of Kannauj.
The period drama is based on the historical figure King Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty and revolves around one of the battles he fought—the Battle of Tarain, in which he faced Muhammad Ghori of the Ghurid dynasty.
This is not just a trait unique to Akshay Kumar but a problem with the industry which sells stories based on the male protagonist. Salman Khan in Dabangg and Sultan, Shahrukh Khan in Zero, and Rajnikanth in Robot have been part of such films too.
