The slow left-arm orthodox spinner, whose performance in last year's Women's T20 Challenge saw her finish with four wickets in three games, can bowl at full speed on the spin-friendly Indian pitches.

Who is Sophie Ecclestone?

Ecclestone was born in Chester. She believes that the biggest influence on her career has been her brother, James, who taught her how to play cricket and football. She studied cricket formally at the Alvanley Cricket Club in Helsby.

She began competing for the Cheshire women's county team in 2013. Lancashire then caught her attention, and she signed with them. In 2015, at the age of 16, she made her top-level domestic debut. She was bought by the Manchester Originals in April 2022 for the 2022 season of The Hundred. She was selected to play for England in the cricket competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in July 2022.

Ecclestone, a skilled ball striker who finished as the Sydney Sixers' runner-up in the Big Bash League, can help out in the middle order.
