Devanathan has studied in India and she joined Meta for looking after the company's South East Asian e-business enterprises. She is based out of Singapore currently as Meta announced her promotion.
Sandhya Devanathan has grown up in India and did her B-Tech in chemical engineering from Andhra University in 1998. Following that she did an MBA course from the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi. She later went to Said Business School, the University of Oxford for a leadership programme.
Devanathan's LinkedIn profile suggests that she has had a long career with handling finances, business and many leadership roles. She started her career in 2003 at an international bank in India and eventually got posted in the Philippines and then in the United States Of America. Post that she joined another bank and was settled in Singapore until she joined Facebook as a Group Director for South East Asian e-commerce initiatives. In 2020 Devanathan was promoted as Vice President of the Asia-specific gaming business for the company now called Meta.
Her profile also shows that Devanathan is an active volunteer for many projects that include a mentorship project for UN Women. She has also volunteered for several Meta projects too. Devanathan seems to have excelled in every workforce she joined since the beginning of her career as she received several awards during her work at the banks for her performance and customer retention. She was awarded The Promising Young Banker in Asia Pacific Award in 2014 by Asian Banker. She was also mentioned in the Singapore 100 Women In Tech in 2021. Devanathan is fluent in speaking Tamil, Telegu, Hindi and English languages.
Devanthan will be replacing Ajit Mohan for this role in Meta, who resigned from his position recently. Currently, the role is managed by Manish Chopra, the director and head of partnerships of Facebook India. Meta announced the job for Devanathan on November 17 and informed her that she will be joining the position from January 1, 2023.
