Who is Mimi Choi: Social media users have been talking about the illusion make-up artist Mimi Cho for her unique style and illusion art. Her make-up videos have been going viral on the internet.

Sharing her video about how the makeup is done, Mimi Choi wrote in the caption, "This is makeup. Trust your instinct. You're not crazy. I slept 3 times with my bald cap and illusion on because I got really dizzy and nauseous from painting the side of my head lol."

Who is Mimi Choi?

• Choi was born in Macau. It was previously a Portuguese colony on the southeast coast of China. Macau is known for its distinct European and Chinese influences.
• Mimi Choi later immigrated to Canada along with her family including her parents and is currently settled there.
• Mimi Choi graduated from Blanche Macdonald Centre in 2014.
• She practices in Vancouver and is a professional makeup artist known for her style of illusion art.
• Choi shared that her art is inspired by the vivid and often frightening visions she gets. Mimi Choi has sleep paralysis, wherein the body is temporarily unresponsive while the mind is awake and during her bouts, she gets these visions.
• Her inspirations also include photoshopped digital art, surreal paintings from artists such as Salvador Dali and M.C. Escher and patterns and textures from her surroundings.
• Mimi Choi, apart from social media pages, also works as an instructor at the Blanche Macdonald. She conducts various masterclasses and workshops around the globe.
