Who Is Malvika Sood Sachar: The actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood’s youngest sister Malvika Sood Sachar will be contesting as a candidate in the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections of 2022. The actor announced her involvement in politics on November 14, although neither of them announced the political party she will be running for.
The actor Sonu Sood, who is from Moga in Punjab, helped thousands of migrants during the COVID-19 lockdown crisis. According to Times of India report, the actor dismissed the idea of joining politics himself and said that his sister has done a “lot of work in the past” and wants to amplify it by joining the electoral race.
Though neither of them named a political party, the actor had met the Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in August this year.
“Malvika will give an affidavit of standing by what she promises to the people, And if she fails to deliver, she will give up (politics),” Sood announced.
After the announcement, Malvika said, “We have been working prominently in health and education sectors already. Solving issues related to hospitals and schools will be my priority. It is clear that I will contest from Moga, but we are yet to take a call from which party I will contest. Our motive should be to improve the system for common people, not a political party.”
Who Is Malvika Sood Sachar?
Also from Moga, Malvika Sood Sachar is reported to have done social work in sectors like education and health.
The 38-year-old philanthropist runs the Sood Charity Foundation, a non-government organisation, along with her brother in the memory of their late parents–Shakti Sagar Sood and Saroj Bala Sood. Although she takes care of the charity projects along with her husband, Gautam Sachar, who is also an educationalist.
Malvika Sood Sachar is also a computer engineer who also runs an IELTS coaching centre, which is a training institute, in Moga. It was Malvika who started the mera sheher, meri zimmewari (my city, my responsibility) campaign for the Moga.
