Who Is Hunter Moore
The release of The Most Hated Man on the Internet, the most recent Netflix documentary series, has sparked a new debate on internet safety. The documentary series focuses on the history of  one of the most infamous websites on the internet. It centers on Hunter Moore, a webmaster and self-described "professional life ruiner" who gained notoriety in the early 2010s by posting illegal revenge porn on his website.

The Most Hated Man on the Internet, from the creators of The Tindler Swindler and Don't F**k with Cats, stars Charlotte Laws, a mother who was willing to bring Moore down and was successful in doing so by working with his victims to remove their images and videos from the website and shut it down completely.

Who Is Hunter Moore:

- Hunter Moore, 36, was raised in Woodland, California, and attended the Woodland Christian School before being expelled.

- In 2010, he launched a website for clubbing, but within a few months, it changed course and began to post explicit images of women without their consent, along with links to their Facebook and Twitter profiles.

- While Moore's website eventually came to an end and his domain name was purchased by the anti-bullying organisation Bullyville.com, he is still referred to as "the king of revenge porn."

- When Moore was profiled in a Rolling Stone piece in 2012, he acquired the label "The Most Hated Man on the Internet" from there only.

- The website operated for more than a year until being shut down 16 months later.

- In February 2015, after being the subject of lawsuits and an FBI investigation, he entered a guilty plea to charges of aggravated identity theft and encouraging illegal access to a computer.

- He was given a sentence of 2.5 years in federal prison, followed by 3 years on parole. Moore was also required to pay a $145.70 restitution fee and a $2,000 fine.

- Hunter released a track titled Make The Internet Great Again in 2017 after Substream Magazine reported that he intended to create EDM music once he was released from prison.

- Is Anyone Up? a controversial book he allegedly penned, was published in 2018.

- According to the Netflix website, he initially agreed to participate in their new docuseries, but he later withdrew for unspecified reasons.

- Producer Vikki Miller continued, "At first I was sad when Hunter pulled out, but I absolutely changed my opinion and I'm so glad we ended up portraying it through Charlotte Laws' narrative."

- Moore recently said he is proud of his creation and has no regrets about what happened. He asserted, "I did my time, I feel like I did pay my dues, and it wasn't all negative; I had a great time. I would definitely do it again, but I would do it in a different way, and I would definitely take back any trauma that anyone suffered from the website or anything unfavourable that happened through the site because back then I didn't understand it."
