Who doesn't enjoy a sweet rom-com for they can be such a great mood-lifter? Well, the upcoming Netflix original series Wedding Season appears to promise to achieve just that!
The upcoming Netflix original film, directed by Tom Dey of Shanghai Noon from a screenplay by Shiwani Srivastava, will focus on wedding bells and the humour that falls in between.
Wedding Season Cast
Suraj Sharma, popularly known for Life Of Pi will star as Ravi an eligible bachelor looking for his match. He stars alongside Pallavi Sharda, who is known for the movies like Save Your Legs! and Begum Jaan. The other actors in the cast include Manoj Sood, Veena Sood, Sean Kleier, Ari Afsar, and Rizwan Manji.
Along with Ruth Goodwin as Tina, Damian Thompson as James, Subhash Santosh as Darshit, Julius Cho as Yoshi, Natasha Krishnan as Laxmi, Meher Pavri as Pihu, Rakhee Morzaria as Rupa, and Sonia Dhillon Tully as Veena round out the remainder of the cast.
The official plot summary provided by Netflix for the movie is as follows: "Under parental pressure to find spouses, Asha and Ravi pretend to date during a summer of weddings- but their ruse goes awry when feelings turn real." The movie is described as entertaining, emotional, and quirky by the OTT platform. Wedding Season is scheduled to release on August 4 on Netflix. It is estimated to be 1 hour and 38 minutes long.
">The trailer sees Asha Maurya (Sharda) as independent and focused on her profession, who has no spare time. We discover that her mother has taken it upon herself to help Asha in her dating attempts. Even more sneakily than Asha knew, her mother set up a dating profile for Asha. Here she meets Ravi, whom she encourages Asha to ask out on a date. Asha first rejects. On condition that her mother deletes the profile, she finally agrees to a date and also to go to the upcoming weddings she is supposed to attend.
Asha and Ravi's first date appears to be a clear swing and a miss in the trailer. Ravi, who recently took a break from work, has a very different mentality than Asha, who works constantly. Their pretended arrangement is initially openly resented, but the teaser gives us a few hints that the two are beginning to feel a connection. In one moment, our two main characters are soaking and stuck in the rain, looking into each other's eyes while Ravi smoulders, "just let your love be greater than your fear."
