Who Is Flora Saini, The 'Gandii Baat' Actor in news over Raj Kundra Controversy?

Who is Flora Saini? Was she another actor who was approached by Raj Kundra for a film or promised roles in web series on their controversial apps? The actor, seen in the series, Gandii Baat recently released a video and clarified that she had no involvement with Kundra and his associate Umesh Kamat.

Saini’s name was mentioned by a Hindi news channel on Saturday along with a WhatsApp chat record alleging her links with the businessman in the ongoing porn racket case. In the leaked chat, Kundra and his associate can be seen discussing if they could cast Saini for a song in a film on Bollyfame, another app that Kundra and his associates were reportedly working on to launch alongside other such apps.

She was even considered for a probable role, as per reports. Saini, however, released a video soon after the channel aired their story and stated that she was not involved with the two accused in any matter and their discussion on a probable casting for their upcoming projects had nothing to do with her. "I am an actor. People sitting in any corner of the world, discussing my name, once, that doesn't make me a part of any film," she said in the video that her name being dragged into the controversy without any confirmation compelled her to speak up about the same.

She further revealed on her instagram video that she never interacted with Kundra and that dragging her into this controversy has nothing to do with "my screen image”. Saini clarified as saying, "Raj Kundra is a part of the industry. His wife is actor Shilpa Shetty. He knows so many actors and other technicians from the industry."

"I am actually nobody. So why don't the police investigate them instead of dragging my name? I don't even have Kundra or any of his associates like Umesh Kamat's contact numbers. So I really don't know what this news channel was trying to emphasise or tell which by the way was very irresponsible in my opinion." Who is Flora Saini?

• Saini has done only one web series called Gandii Baat and made appearances in films like Stree, Begum Jaan and Laxmii.
• She played the ghost in Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree and shot to fame with the film. Saini made headlines post her allegations against producer Gaurang Doshi of having abused her in the past.
• She has mostly done south films and drives audiences in that market.
• The actor made her acting debut in 1999 with Telugu film titled Prema Kosam as the lead.
• The actor experimented with changing her name to make it big in films. A film producer of her first film rechristened her as Asha Saini, TOI reported. She had also adopted a new screen name Mayuri as per advice by an astrologer.
• She was arrested in the year 2008 in Chennai for forging visa documents, reports have claimed. After the arrest, she was subsequently banned from the south film industry. After a few weeks, the ban was lifted and she was claimed as innocent.

Saini has also recorded her name in the Limca Book Of Records for releasing three of her movies on the same day in 2010.
