Meet Elizabeth Debicki, 'The Crown' Season 5's Princess Diana

The Crown is a Netflix historical drama series that premiered in 2016 and features the reign of the longest-ruling British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. The series will soon be premiering season 5 which will reportedly focus on Prince Charles and Princess Diana's marital issues.

The Crown had four successful seasons that took the audience along the life journey of Queen Elizabeth from her marriage to Prince Phillip to her coronation and Prince Charles' wedding. After every second season, the cast of the series changes to better accommodate the ageing process of the characters. This means that season 5 will also be having a new star cast playing the pivotal characters of the royal family. Who Is Elizabeth Debicki? Actor To Play Princess Diana In The Crown

Elizabeth Debicki is a renowned Australian actor who started her career in 2011 with the comedy film A Few Best Men, starring Maureen. Born on August 24, 1990, in Paris, the actor's father was a Polish man while her mother was an Australian of Irish descent, both of whom were ballet dancers. Debicki has a younger sister and brother and was inclined towards ballet like her parents but later switched to the theatre. She graduated from Eastern Melbourne's Huntingtower School in 2007 and moved to Victorian College of the Arts.

While studying in college, she was awarded the Richard Pratt Bursary award in 2009 for outstanding acting students. The actor graduated from acting school in 2010 and made her debut in 2011. Since then she has acted in movies like The Great Gatsby, Macbeth, Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, Breath and Widows. She has won awards from Empire Awards UK, London Films Critics' Circle, IndiwWire Critics Poll, Logie Awards and Helpmann Awards. She will also be seen in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 as Ayesha which will release in 2023.

Elizabeth Debicki will be playing the role of Princess Diana in season five of The Crown series which will reportedly feature the events of the British royal family during the early and mid-1990s. The series, releasing on November 9, will feature the divorce of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, the popular revenge dress and the car accident that resulted in the death of Princess Diana.
