Meet Debarpita Banerjee, The New CEO Of FCB India

Who is Debarpita Banerjee: FCB (Foote, Cone & Belding) India announced its newly elevated C-suite leadership team on Thursday, July 22. Debarpita Banerjee has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the agency. Surjo Dutt and John Thangaraj, on the other hand, will be taking over the positions of Chief Creative Officer and Chief Strategy Officer respectively.

Speaking on the new appointments,  Chairperson of the company Rohit Ohri said in a statement that all three of them have the experiences relevant for their current roles. "Debbie, Surjo and John’s diverse experience across content marketing, media strategy and digital storytelling, respectively, uniquely positions them to deliver to the challenges of building and growing brands in today’s complex, ever-changing marketplace," he said.

Here are five things we know about FCB India's new CEO- Debarpita Banerjee:

1. Debarpita Banerjee, the newly elected CEO of FCB India is a seasoned business leader with a prior experience in marketing and advertising. She also leads the branded content and production arm at the agency- Fuel.
2. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She then moved to Clarion College of Communication to complete her Post Graduation in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication. Banerjee went to Columbia Business School for higher education.
3. Her LinkedIn bio reads, "25 years of building brands and businesses. Growth and ROI focussed; Winner of integrated and digital marketing awards- India and SEA. Building a culture of strategic thinking and creative solutions."
4. Banerjee served as the Account Executive at RK Swamy BBDO from 1997-1999. She then went on to become the Associate Account Director at Leo Burnett, and was later appointed Vice President & Client Services Director at J Walter Thompson Worldwide. From 2010-2015, Banerjee served as the Vice President of Marketing & Communication at National Geographic & Fox International Channels. She has also worked as the Global Marketing & Brand Consultant for a Content & Entertainment Business company.
5. Banerjee joined FCB in 2016. Earlier, she was the President- North and East at FCB Ulka.
