Who is Asawari Joshi: Popular television actor Asawari Joshi took to social media to dispel reports of her accident circulating online. Addressing fans, she pointed out the inconvenience owing to “negligence of the media” and informed she was safe and doing well at home.

Joshi cited certain reports from September 6 that claimed she was injured in an accident near Lonavala on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. There were even rumours of her death, she added.

“I would like to convey to all my fans and relatives from all over Maharashtra and outside Maharashtra that by the grace of Swami I am safe at home today, don’t worry,” Joshi said.

The 56-year-old is best known for appearing in classic comedy shows Family No.1, Tere Ghar Ke Samne and Office Office. She currently essays the role of Aditi Suryavanshi on Marathi series Swabhiman – Shodh Astitvacha.

1. Joshi has been in television and films since the 1980s, with work in both Hindi and Marathi languages, debuting with Bal Brahmachari and Mazhe Ghar Mazha Sansar respectively.

2. Supporting roles she is prominent for include playing the mother of Shahrukh Khan’s character in Om Shanti Om and Nana Patekar’s wife in Shagird. 

3. Among her most loved screen appearances was as the eccentric Usha ji on Office Office and Naya Office Office.

4. After consistent television work, Joshi took a five-year break after Disney’s 2013 show Shake It Up. She returned to the small screen with Marathi series Shankar Jaikishan 3 in 1 in 2017.
