Who Is Arunita Kanjilal? Indian Idol Contestant Offered Song By Karan Johar

Arunita Kanjilal, an Indian Idol contestant was recently offered a song by director-producer Karan Johar.

Karan Johar addressed her in a personalised note and wrote, "I want to tell you from the bottom of my heart that I want to welcome you to the Dharma family. I want to come and give a small confirmation note from my end."

He added, "I have written it from my heart that this year, I want to make you sing a song and, I hope that the song deserves you. You know, more than you deserving the song, I hope the song deserves you."

He further appreciated her performance and said that he doesn't have words for it. He also called her the 'suron ki rani'.

Who is Arunita Kanjilal?

• Arunita Kanjilal is known to have participated in Indian idol season 12.
• She is from Kolkata, West Bengal. She is an aspiring singer working towards establishing herself as a playback singer in Bollywood.
• Arunita's love for music bloomed while seeing her mother who enjoys singing as well. Her first music inspiration is also her mother. She learnt music from her maternal uncle.
• She has also previously won the Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs back in 2013.
• Kanjilal also performed during various live shows, as well as performed at many international shows with the famous Bollywood singer Shaan.
• Last year Arunita auditioned for India Idol season 12, impressing the judges with her voice. The judges called her voice, melodious and soulful voice. She left the judges in awe and got herself the golden ticket.
• In one of the episodes of the reality show, Kanjilal sang Chaahat Ke Diye. The special guest of the episode said that her voice reminded him of Lata Mangeshkar.
• Apart from singing she also likes playing instruments like harmonium etc. Arunita credits her achievements to her mother.
