Meet Aishwarya Rajesh, Starrer Of The Crime Thriller Driver Jamuna

Aishwarya Rajesh had recently it to the headlines by announcing her upcoming film Driver Jamuna on January 10, her birthday. The 31-year old Tollywood actor is to play the role of a female cab driver in the movie.

Rajesh took to her official Instagram and Twitter accounts to announce her upcoming film Driver Jamuna which is a crime thriller. She wrote under her post, "On this special day, I am announcing my next film titled Driver Jamuna, directed by Vathikuchi fame Kinslin, bankrolled by SP Chowdhary of 18 Reels."

Who Is Aishwarya Rajesh?

The Telugu speaking actor works in Tamil and Malayalam films too, alongside Telugu films. Belonging from a family of actors, she started her career with the Tamil film Neethana Avan in the year 2010, after working as an anchor at the TV show Asathapovathu Yaaru.

Rajesh has been the recipient of two South Indian International Movie (SIIMA) Awards, and a Filmfare Award South. She has also received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress in Kaaka Mutta for her role as a mother of two children. The Kanaa Kausalya starrer has also appeared opposite Arjun Rampal in the film Daddy. Her performance in the films Dharma Durai and Kuttrame Thandanai was critically appreciated.

Earlier, Rajesh was seen sharing about her journey in a TEDx Talk where she talked about personal loss, rejection, bias and sexual harassment in the industry. She commented on her personal experience of bias because of her skin colour. She said, "It was not only sexual harassment but also my colour, my complexion, my personality, the way I look. Maybe, they didn’t take me because I was talking in Tamil. It happens in our Tamil film industry."

She further said, "In cinema, we always hear only one thing, which is, Sexual Harassment. Everywhere there’s sexual harassment. But since it’s a media platform, it’s highlighted."

Apart from her acting skills, Rajesh is also a professional dancer. She choreographed stage shows at her college, Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai, and later got into the reality show Maanada Mayilada, where she won the show's third season. Her performances in the show opened new doors of opportunity for her in the film industry.

Aishwarya Rajesh  will also be part of the Tamil remake of the successful Malayalam show The Great Indian Kitchen.
