Aima Baig: Meet The Popular Singer Rocking Pakistan's Music Scene

Who is Aima Baig: One of the most famous youth icons from Pakistan's music industry, Aima Baig is a fan favourite across borders. At just 26, she has made appearances on major platforms, including the esteemed Coke Studio stage, and accumulated multiple title credits to her name for playback singing on successful films.

Her Instagram page with over three million followers is a testament to her popularity. In 2021, Baig was titled the most streamed female artist Pakistan by music platform Spotify. "I kid you not this is all a Dream come true," she wrote, marking the moment.

Some of the most notable soundtracks she has lent her voice to are for films Teefa In Trouble, Lahore Se Aagey, 7 Din Mohabbat In, Baaji and Na Band Na Baraati.

Know Who Is Aima Baig And Why She Is Making Headlines

Hailing from Punjab, Pakistan, Baig spent her early years in Oman. She is one of four siblings and is the daughter of an engineer father.

Five years ago, Baig lost her mother to a prolonged battle with cancer. In interviews, she has often spoken up about her mother being her strength and how her passing prompted her to spread awareness about cancer.

In a heartfelt note on her mother's birthday two years ago, Baig wrote on Instagram, "I miss you mom... Apni sabse choti beti ko apna bestfriend bana k or phr aisy chor k chaly jany pe thore narazgi zaror rahay gi but us sy zada wo dard rahy ga jo apky Janay sy meray andar hmesha k liye baith gya," talking about how her mother was her best friend.

Baig is engaged to be married to Pakistani filmmaker and actor Shahbaz Shigri.

Pepsi Pakistan this week revealed Baig as one of the front faces of their "biggest dance track of the year," along with music industry notables like Javed Bashir and Rozeo.

Baig is presently on a music tour across Pakistan. A video from one of her concerts in Lahore recently went viral, as per reports, showing the crowd turning disruptive. While this was reportedly not the first time the crowd at a Baig performance turned rowdy, fans are lauding her this time for standing up to a man in the audience who allegedly made abusive signs at her.
