Bachchhan Paandey, a forthcoming action comedy directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is based on Jigarthanda, a Tamil language film from 2014. According to reports, it was originally planned to be a remake of another Tamil film, Veeram, but the script was changed.
The film’s protagonist Bachchhan Paandey, a ruthless and dangerous bandit from Baagwa, is played by Akshay Kumar. Kriti Sanon also stars as Myra Devekar, a young filmmaker charged by her producer with inventing a convincing mafia plot in order to produce a film.

Myra is so excited about her new project that she decides to conduct research into the life of a real mobster in order to make her script authentic and financially appealing. She discovers Bachchhan Paandey and decides to make him the protagonist of her film.
Myra is joined by Vishu, who is played by Arshad Warsi and accompanies her to Baagwa, and the two end up getting imprisoned while quietly monitoring the gangster’s operations. As they try to persuade him to join in the film, a series of perilous, often humorous occurrences ensue. Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Prateik Babbar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Abhimanyu Singh are among the actors who are set to play pivotal roles in the film.
In the meantime, three tracks from the film have been released. Upbeat dance tunes like “Maar Khayegaa” and “Saare Bolo Bewafa“, while “Meri Jaan Meri Jaan” is a love duet featuring Sanon.
