The story is about a strong bond between two lovers. Sita Mahalakshmi sends secret love letters to Lieutenant Ram, an orphaned soldier stationed at the Kashmir border. Ram leaves to find Sita and tell her how much he loves her. Salmaan portrays Lt. Ram, and Mrunal Thakur plays Sita. Rashmika Mandana also has a significant part to play in the film. Sitham  Vasudev Menon, Sumanth, Prakash Raj, and Bhumika Chawla are among the actors who appear in Sita Ramam.

Thakur stated, that playing Sita was one of her most humble experiences. The actress made her Telugu film debut with the movie. I've never done a film in the South, and now that it's getting its streaming debut on Prime Video, I can't wait for more people to see it and show it the same kind of support I've been feeling ever since it came out."
